Shock Mines are one-time use base defense structures that deal minor area damage and will temporarily disable enemy vehicles within that area. Shock mines are automatically replaced for free between each base battle. Shock mines detonate when enemy land forces come within close proximity to the mine and will only affect enemy land forces. Air units do not trigger the mine and are not affected by it. Due to the dual functions of the shock mine, it is useful against all enemy land forces. The EMP generated by the mine temporarily disables enemy vehicles and allows other base defenses to attack it without much, if any retaliation or to slow enemy forces and allow base defenses to take on smaller, more manageable waves of enemy forces. The damage dealt by the shock mine, although less than the Landmine, is better suited to countering low hitpoint units such as Rangers, but is less useful against Tanks and similar units. Shock mines are upgraded at the Research Agency, where both damage and disabling time can be increased.
